Drikung Kagyu Religious to engage in serious practice and retreat, Rechen Shykpa Dorjee Meditation Center long ago realized the importance of acquiring holy land for retreat facilities.  

At the firm suggestion of our 34 th Dorzin spiritual Teacher, Dhondup Palden Rinpoche, and His Eminence Nubpa Rinpoche, sharp focus was placed on obtaining retreat center for the purpose of “establishing and operating retreat facilities allowing interested individuals to practice Tibetan philosophical, psychological and meditation techniques in the secluded

three years and there months format, and in formats of any other duration as may be own benefit.” The results were almost instantaneous following, His Holiness the 37th  Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche’s recommendation, for within three years and three months and eminently suitable property became available.

On March 15th 2003, His Holiness the 37 th Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche completed a six-month retreat for Yidam Chakrasamvara at Godavari in Lapchi. After blessing the holy place and future retreat, His Holiness indeed returned on April 1 st 2007 for a further three month’s retreat.

His Holiness considers Lapchi to be very important to the development of the Drikung Kagyu sect and its future aims. The lineage masters have emphasized the necessity of holding and developing this land as top priority or the flourishing of Buddhism. They have predicated an auspicious development and a major contribution over a vast time for this site.
